A round-up of all of the newest features in UK Payroll.
Manage multiple student loans with UK Payroll
Note: This feature will be released on August 11, 2025.
Ensure accurate payroll deductions by selecting multiple student loan types for each UK employee, if necessary.
Assign more than one student or postgraduate loan type to an employee in Bob when syncing UK tax settings to your UK Payroll integration. Activate this option in Bob System Settings > Flows to select any combination of Plan 1, Plan 2, Plan 4, and Postgraduate loans directly from the employee's UK tax settings in their profile.
By capturing multiple applicable loan plans, your payroll process stays aligned with HMRC requirements, ensuring correct deductions and fewer manual adjustments.

Smarter UK parental pay handling
UK Payroll highlights when payslip data is missing for parental leave.
If payslip data is missing for an employee that is using parental leave, UK Payroll will set the average weekly earnings (AWE) value to £0 and display a warning message. This ensures payroll admins have transparency and control. Users can then override AWE values if needed, providing flexibility while maintaining accuracy.
This update applies only to new absences and does not affect any existing leave records.

Optimizations
This section includes any minor features and fixes.
Entitlements now visible for zero-hour employees
Employees without a working pattern or with a zero-contract will now see their full entitlements and benefits values synced from Bob. With this change, the full cash amount for the period will always display as expected.
Smoother car benefit distribution
When a company car is added or returned mid tax year, the system correctly spreads the remaining benefit value across the rest of the year. While the annual benefit amount was always accurate, the monthly breakdown could previously appear uneven. With this update, the system now takes the total yearly value, subtracts any amount already paid, and evenly allocates the remainder over the remaining periods.
Bank details read-only for Support
Users can be assured that support cannot add, edit, or delete employee bank details when UK Payroll support is troubleshooting any issues. This helps protect sensitive financial information while still allowing necessary visibility.
